DDF Titanium and Zinc Sun Block

Sunscreens can contain ingredients that can provide the required sun protection. These ingredients can vary in chemical composition. Some are physical compounds while others are chemical and organic compounds. The naturally-occurring compounds that are safe for use in sunscreens are titanium dioxide and zinc oxide.

Titanium dioxide or titanium oxide is derived from the oxide of titanium. It is regarded as the most widely-used pigment in paint. When it is used as a pigment, it is called titanium white.

Aside from paint, titanium dioxide is used in cosmetics and as a tattoo pigment. In skin care products, the compound is popularly used in sunscreens. It has an opaque quality that can resist UV light. Its ability to reflect UV light is also the quality the compound is more preferred as an active ingredient of sunscreens than other chemical compounds.

Titanium dioxide and zinc oxide are naturally-occurring compounds with white pigments. They are also used as semi-conductors in electronic applications. These compounds are more recommended for use in sunscreens for they are less likely to bring skin irritation than other chemical compounds. Zinc oxide is a compound that has antifungal and antimicrobial properties. Both of these compounds can be found in some sun block products although other sunscreens use any of the two compounds as active ingredients.

One of the sun block products in which the two compounds can be found is DDF- titanium & zinc sun block.

DDF titanium and zinc sun block can provide UVA and UVB protection. It can be used in any skin type including children’s skin. This product can not cause acne nor can burn eyes during perspiration.

DDF titanium and zinc sun block does not contain chemical ingredients to block UV rays. Its active ingredients are composed of 4% zinc oxide and 2.5 % titanium oxide. Its other ingredients can compose of organic compounds where eleven of these are known as anti-oxidants. Its other ingredients could include soybean sterols, CoQ-10, green tea extract, beeswax, redox of Vitamin A, C and E and other chemical inactive compounds.

DDF titanium and zinc sun block can be applied on the face and body before exposing to the sun. For women, it can be used before applying make-up while for men during after-shave or cleaning the skin.

DDF titanium and zinc sun block should be re-applied after swimming or after excessive perspiration.
More information about DDF titanium and zinc sun block can be found at some websites. You can also find other products of sunscreens that contain the two active ingredients that can resist UV rays.

Cholesterol Diet

Got heart problems? Watching your cholesterol intake? Worry no more. If you already have heart disease or at high risk of developing one, it is recommended that you go on a cholesterol diet. Cholesterol diet is a low fat diet that will reduce your blood cholesterol level. It will minimize the chance of having a future heart attacks and other heart disease.

If you want to go on a cholesterol diet you should minimize your intake of the day’s total saturated fat calorie by 7% and fat by 25-35 percent. Limit your sodium intake by 2400 milligrams daily. You must have enough calories for you to maintain a healthy weight and your blood cholesterol level. Ask your physician or dietician to what is your appropriate calorie level.

If your blood cholesterol is not low enough on your cholesterol diet, ask your doctor what is the suitable level of soluble fiber for you; or you can just add some cholesterol-lowering food products on your cholesterol diet.

If you want to dine out and still stick on your cholesterol diet, here are some tips for you to follow so that you will be able to maintain your cholesterol diet.
* Find out which restaurants have low saturated fat and have a low cholesterol menu.
* Sharing your dish with your companion or taking some home is advisable, better yet, you can also ask for appetizer-size servings or a side dish.
* Ask to separate the gravy, butter, rich sauces and dressings. You can control your cholesterol and saturated fat much easier that way.
* Ask the extras (salad, fries, baked potato) to be left off or substitute them.
* If you are craving for pizza, order the one that has vegetable toppings (green pepper, onions, and mushrooms) instead of meat or extra cheese. Or to make it easier for you, order it with half of the cheese or no cheese at all.
* If your dining on a fastfood restaurant, order salads, grilled skinless chicken sandwiches (fried and breaded are a no no), regular-sized hamburgers or roast beef sandwiches. Avoid large burgers, sandwiches and french-fries.
* Choose the dishes that are cooked on a low cholesterol method (broiled, steamed, au jus, garden fresh, baked, roasted, poached, tomato juice, dry boiled and lightly saturated)
* Be mindful of dishes that are high in saturated fat and cholesterol. (butter sauce, fried, crispy, creamed, au gratin, au fromage, escalloped, parmesan, hollandaise, béarnaise, marinated, stewed, basted, sautéed, casserole and pastry crust)

Take note that if you lose weight, your calorie needs will also be lowered. It will decrease the amount of saturated fat and the fat that you will be able to consume on the cholesterol diet. Don’t hesitate to consult your physician or dietician if you have questions regarding your cholesterol diet.

"Gourmet Cooking Schools and Vacations" from Infohub.com

The "Gourmet Cooking Schools and Vacations" at www.infohub.com
A Review...

Consumer: Gourmet Cooks

The purpose of the Gourmet Cooking Schools and Vacations page on the Infohub website is to provide information to those who are seeking gourmet cooking schools or gourmet cooking vacations.

Pros: There are so many choices here that it’s a bit mind boggling. How is one to choose only one from such a wide array of excellent choices? Under Gourmet cooking schools in California, for example, there are eight trips and schools ranging from 3 to 14 days. I want all of them! I can’t have all of them so choosing just one will take some time.

There are gourmet cooking schools and gourmet vacations for destinations all over the United States and around the world.

There are several pages of options listed under France.

Anyone who is considering going to a gourmet cooking school or taking a gourmet vacation should certainly be able to locate exactly the right thing for themselves on the Infohub website. The only problem will be choosing only one.

Cons: The only con that is discernible is making a choice between so many wonderful gourmet cooking schools and gourmet vacation packages.

Guarantee: There is no guarantee offered for any of the trips or schools that are listed on the Infohub website.

Value for money: There are so many possibilities for vacations and schools that it is impossible to evaluate the value of them.

"Apple Potato Peeler" from Vermont Country Store

The "Apple Potato Peeler" from Vermont Country Store at www.vermontcountrystore.com
A Riview...

Consumer: Gourmet Cooks

The purpose of the apple/potato peeler is simply to take the work out of peeling, coring and slicing apples and potatoes and to insure perfect and even slices every time.

Pros: Peeling, coring and slicing apples has always been one of the jobs I disliked the most when I am cooking. Peeling and slicing potatoes was my second least favorite task. Potatoes and apples are the basic ingredients in many of the gourmet dishes that I prepare so I have a lot of apples and potatoes to peel, core and slice. The Apple Potato Peeler solved both problems for me.

I love the way the Apple Potato Peeler can be set to either just peel or just core and slice. It does attach very firmly to the counter top with a vacuum seal and it is very easy to use. I just crank it and it does all of the work for me.

Cons: The apple/potato peeler is rather heavy. It does, however, stay put when you adhere the vacuum grip base to a counter top.

Guarantee: Lyman Orton, the owner of Vermont Country Stores says this, “My commitment to finding you practical, hard to find merchandise and to superior customer service remains absolutely unshakable. Everything you see in our catalogues, in our on-line store, and in our retail stores is 100% guaranteed to work like we say it will.”

Value for money: This apple/potato peeler is worth every penny of the cost. It does save time and effort but more importantly it insures uniform slices which are so important to gourmet cooks everywhere.

Genital Warts

"Eradicate Gentital Warts with extraordinary, simple, natural home remedies"

If you have genital warts and are looking for the most effective, easiest natural remedies to help you overcome this disease... this article was written for you.

I suffered from recurring genital warts for years - and I had tried every remedy and "cure" I had heard about...

I had tried every remedy and 'cure' I had heard about. I mean, I'd try darn near anything if I even suspected it might help cure my disease. Heck, I probably tried everything but going to a witch doctor and dancing around shrunken heads. Some of it worked - but a lot of it didn't!

Anyway, you can see why I was so stressed out all the time. I had been trying everything possible to help cure my disease and not much of it was working. Well, I decided. I would find something that worked...

How I Became A Genital Warts Expert

Okay, I'm not really a genital warts expert. But I do know a LOT more than the average sufferer.

Here's why:

I really decided I was going to figure this genital warts thing out, so I started studying. I read everything I could get my hands on.

I read about alternative therapies.

I read about traditional therapies, treatments and nutritional and lifestyle changes that people thought would help.

I had to look ALL over for this information - it was a REAL pain!

But I kept a record of every remedy that worked for me, and wrote down everything that didn't - and that's how I started becoming an 'expert'

Here's what I found out: it's easier than you think...

Turns out healing yourself is not complicated once you know a few basics.

In fact, it's just a matter of finding out what works for you and sticking to it. Once you have the right information ... the right guide ... you can just literally 'fail your way to success!

What do I mean by this? Simple. It's what I did.

I tried every remedy, cure and treatment I heard about and stopped using the ones that didn't work - and continued using the ones that DID work!

It's that simple, and that powerful...And you don't need to know a lot of medical stuff.

That's the big secret.

Here's the problem: there is no simple guide.

I searched and searched for a good simple guide to healing my genital warts.

You know, a booklet that was low on fluff and just tells me what I need to know about what options I had ... the remedies available ... and various treatments I could try.

I don't want to know all the medical details, or read a university-level course on biology, etc.

I just want to know...what are the basic things I can do that make my chances of healing my genital warts a lot better?

Just teach me those things, that's what I was thinking.I couldn't find such a guide.

So I compiled all my research, all the notes I had taken about what had worked for me, and had one created: "The Secrets Of Curing Your Genital Warts Naturally"

This is the guide I was looking for but couldn't find.

And here's just some of what's inside:

• All about genital warts and HPV - where genital warts come from, and what causes them. (page 6-18)

• What Causes Genital Warts - The most common causes of genital warts and what you can do to avoid a recurrence of them. (page 19-25)

• What you can do about genital warts - A simple guide to what you can do to cure your genital warts, along with the complications and risk factors involved. (pages 29)

• How to deal with genital warts emotionally- Why your emotions are important and how you can use even fear, anger, guilt and shame to help yourself. (pages 35-42)

• Everything you need to know about HPV and pregnancy - the facts you absolutely MUST know if you're pregnant and dealing with genital warts. (pages 44-46)

• The 9 most effective ways to prevent getting genital warts. These 9 simple steps have been proven over time to prevent getting genital warts! (pages 48-52)

• Medications 101: Everything you need to know about traditional medications you can take to cure genital warts. (page 57-62)

• Why natural remedies may be the answer you're looking for. Important considerations you should think about when deciding to cure your genital warts. (page 64)

• All about herbal cures. Herbal cures I've found most effective ... and the ones that didn't work so well. (pages 65-73)

• The amazing healing power of tea. The most effective teas for not only helping your genital warts, but also giving you a healthier lifestyle. (page 72-76)

• The 6 most effective vitamins and minerals. Nothing works better than these vitamins and minerals to give you health and healing. (page 80-82)

• What foods help cure your genital warts. The healthiest types of foods to eat and why they work. (page 82)

• How your high school reading teacher can help cure your genital warts (page 83)

• Do alternative treatments work? My personal experiences with acupuncture, acupressure, aromatherapy, heat pads, and hypnosis and my advice for you (pages 84-86)

Plus much more ...

This just scratches the surface of what's in the book.

I give you everything you need to really get started curing yourself.

I'm sure that right about now, you're wondering...

How Much Does The Book Cost?

The real question is: how much is it worth to finally know all the stuff about curing your genital warts you've always wanted to know?

I suppose you could do what most people do -- just "make it up as you go", and use the "trial and error" method.

(And take YEARS to figure it out—much like I did!)

But why not take advantage of the experience and knowledge I've put into this simple book?

And I boil it all down for you in very simple, easy to understand terms.

Less than 100 pages -- no fluff, all information you can put to work right now.

If it doesn't work - I'll send you back your money. Doesn't $14.95 seem reasonable?

When you order your copy of "Curing Your Genital Warts Naturally" today, you get the book as a downloadable eBook.

You can be reading "Curing Your Genital Warts Naturally" in as little as 2 minutes from right now (even if it's 2am on a Sunday!).

My automated and secure system will deliver your copy as a downloadable PDF file (which can be read on any computer). You can read the book on your computer, or you can print it out if you like.

Try The Guide Risk-Free For 8 Full Weeks.

See if it works for you -- if it gets you started on healing your genital warts (it will).

I don't want you to take any risk at all in ordering this book. So here's what I'm willing to do: you get the book and put me to the test for EIGHT WEEKS.

If at the end of the 8 weeks you don't feel the information you take away from my "life's work" was worth every penny you invested ...

Histories of Gourmet Coffee

Histories of Gourmet Coffee - A lot of people all over the world drink gourmet coffee. This wonderful, mysterious drink is almost like a staple for many people. They drink it during breakfast to start the day. They take a cup during work to relieve stress. They drink it because it is a stimulant. They enjoy a cup or two with friends because it relaxes them.

There are a lot of fascinating facts about gourmet coffee. First, gourmet coffee started out as food, not a drink, in East Africa. Coffee berries were mixed with animal fat, forming a sort of energy ball not unlike the energy bars sold today.

From East Africa, this practice found its way to the Arabian Peninsula where it was made into a drink. This was the official birthplace of coffee as a drink around 1000 A.D. During the 13th century, Muslims began drinking coffee frequently.

Islam spread and so did coffee. However, the Arabians were not about to tell their secrets of coffee making to anyone. Until the 1600’s, there weren’t many fertile coffee seeds or other areas in the Middle East where coffee beans could be grown.

There is another version of gourmet coffee history. This version states that it was in India where gourmet coffee really began. An Indian smuggler named Baba Budan left Mecca. With him were precious bags of fertile coffee seeds. He planted the seeds when he reached India.

Elsewhere, European traders who returned from Turkey heard of coffee. In the race to acquire this drink, the Dutch came in first. They got coffee seeds from India and made coffee plantations in Java, Indonesia which was controlled by the Dutch at that time in 1616.

Yet, another version of coffee history explains the rise of gourmet coffee. This story stated that the emperor of Brazil asked a spy, Lieutenant Colonel Palheta, to bring coffee beans back to the country. Palheta traveled to French Guiana where he seduced the governor’s wife. As a farewell gift when it was time to return to his country, the woman gave him a bouquet. Under the arrangement of flowers was a large supply of fertile coffee beans.

Today, Brazil is the biggest manufacturer and exporter of gourmet coffee.

In the US, only in the state of Hawaii is coffee grown. The volcanic soil in Hawaii is perfect for growing coffee.

Truly, gourmet coffee is just as fascinating as its taste. Perhaps, that is why this fascinating drink still evokes a sense of mystery, excitement and satisfaction when we partake of it.

The Weight Watchers Online Program - A Review

The purpose of Weight Watchers Online is to help people lose unwanted pounds.

Here is a short review about the program and what I think and experienced...

Pros: Weight Watchers is a well-known and well-established weight loss organization that has been helping people lose weight for many, many years very successfully. You can find real world Weight Watcher’s meetings taking place at many times of the day in most cities across America (as well as many other countries). However, as our lives become busier and busier many people just can’t find a way to attend a real-world Weight Watchers meeting out in the real brick and mortar world so now there is Weight Watchers Online where people can get the same help and advice as they would get at a Weight Watchers meeting out in the real world from the comfort of their own homes and at their convenience.

Weight Watchers Online can provide the support and the information and guidance that dieters need just like real world meetings! The monthly membership fees are basically the same as those out in the brick and mortar world.

Pros: After searching the entire Internet as well as every local gourmet store to find the perfect gift for my gourmet-food-loving friend, I finally found Seattle Chocolate Truffles. I was delighted as was my friend to whom I gave them.

The ordering was simple and the delivery was prompt and exactly as promised. What a refreshing idea....delivering what is promised! It was a pleasure doing business with The Candy Depot and I will be a repeat customer many times over.

Ice packs were included with the shipment to insure that the chocolate arrived still firm and not melted beyond recognition.

The Candy Depot says that they have the largest selection of candy on the Internet and it is priced lower than others price it. I have found that to be true.

WHAT IS THE SIGNIFICANCE OF CHOLESTEROL RATIO

Summary: Facts about cholesterol ratio and its reliability as basis for diagnosis.
Is cholesterol ratio different from your cholesterol numbers? How significant is this in the diagnosis and treatment of possible heart disease?
Cholesterol ratio, instead of the total blood cholesterol, is used by some doctors and cholesterol technicians in diagnosing atherosclerosis, or the disorder characterized by the accumulation of cholesterol on the walls of the arteries. The cholesterol ratio is derived by dividing the total cholesterol by the HDL cholesterol. So if a patient has a total cholesterol of 200 and an HDL of 50, his cholesterol ratio would be 4:1. The average ratio would be 4.5:1 or below 5:1, and the most ideal cholesterol ratio would be about 2:1 or 3:1 or anything under 4:1. This means that a high cholesterol ratio indicates a high risk for heart disease and a low cholesterol ratio is a lesser risk factor.

One other cholesterol ratio is the LDL/HDL ratio. This is considered as a more accurate because it is derived from the measurements of good cholesterol (HDL) and bad cholesterol (LDL). The measurement of the total blood cholesterol is not as accurate in the sense that the total blood cholesterol is the sum of other numbers like HDL, LDL, and other lipid components like the Triglycerides. The measure of total blood cholesterol includes HDL which is considered good cholesterol and does not pose as a cardiac risk. Thus, the total blood cholesterol measurement is not as good indicator of heart disease than the LDL/HDL cholesterol ratio.

So is it possible to have a high measurement for total blood cholesterol and a low LDL/HDL ratio?
It is definitely possible. A patient with a high absolute value for the total blood cholesterol can have a low LDL/HDL cholesterol ratio. This is best explained by looking at the compositions of the total blood cholesterol. It is merely derived from the measurements of the LDL, HDL, and Triglycerides. A high total blood cholesterol yet a low LDL/HDL cholesterol ratio would mean that the Triglycerides has contributed a lot. The triglycerides are the only ones unaccounted for in LDL/HDL cholesterol ratio. Therefore, the presence of the triglycerides in the blood makes the total blood cholesterol rise.

Even if the LDL/HDL cholesterol level is a reliable indicator of a risk for heart disease, the American Heart Association still suggest that the values obtained in the lipoprotein test for the total blood cholesterol and the HDL cholesterol level be used by doctors as basis for their diagnosis and treatment for patients.

Glass Tea Kettle

Tea kettles have been rather small kitchen appliances used for heating or boiling water for tea making or for other hot drinks. Glass tea kettles are the much classier and more elegant versions of these tea kettles; they vary in sizes and capacities, as well as other properties such as shapes and materials.

Not only are glass tea kettles beautifully stylish, but they are also ranked among the most convenient and easy-to-use types of tea kettles; however, making sure that one uses a metal trivet or diffuser between the heat source and the glass, as well as heating slowly is important. Among quality manufacturers of glass tea kettles is Cooks Corner, which offers several of the most user-friendly and fashionable glass tea kettles that provide for a more practical home item in beautiful designs.

Another name for fine glass tea kettle is Capresso Cordless Classic that features auto shut-offs and illuminated blue light for fast, quiet, and safe way of boiling water, as well as holding 1.5 quarts of liquid; large handle; matte-silver-finish lid; and easy lifting for pouring and serving. Capresso glass tea kettles also works well with any type of heat including ceramic hobs, electric cookers, and gas stoves. Its regular retail price in the market today is at $79.00.

A number of fine-looking glass tea kettles can also be bought from Simpson and Vail that offers glass kettles suitable for gas, ceramic, or electric cooking surfaces; its glass kettle products’ easy cleaning and prettiness together with its clear shape make it a perfect choice for water heating needs.

One more great choice for glass tea kettles is that of Gold Supplier that features quiet and fast water boiling; heat-resistant glass; concealed heating-system covered in stainless steel; auto shut-off for safety; cool-touch handle; illuminated power switch; free pouring design; and cordless design with a 360º swivel base for right and left handed users.

Glass tea kettles have always been and always will be real “eye-catchers” in the kitchen. With today’s more enhanced and inventive production of this type of tea kettle, it’s no surprise that it’s one of the best-selling tea kettles in the market today, loved for its classic elegant look along with its function that adds a little “fun and spice” to tea-time preparations.

Creative Stress Management

Creative Stress Management - Lucky are those who can say without batting an eyelash that they are exempted from getting stress or from being stressed-out. Even fortunate are those who can mightily pronounce that they are immune from stress and that they know when its coming and when its going.

With the many available stress management regimens flooding before us, we are equally daunted with the thought which one is certainly going to relieve us from stress. Just the thought of choosing the myriads of available techniques is in a way stressful in itself. However there are still that promise to bring us favorable results no matter how simple or ordinary. All these coping mechanisms may have been already our way of coping without us knowing that they have already done us favor--- to relieve the stress. Simply put, we just take them for granted.

Creativity is still the rule of thumb when it comes to addressing stress of any kind. Nothing can truly beat the benefits of creative stress management. Not only it can help us recover speedily but also make us do it without having to attend workshops that are expensive most of the time. Creative stress management can be done at home with family and friends or with your husband or wife. It does not really call for special kind of treatment. All it really takes is a sprinkle of creativity, and that’s it, a stress management that you can truly call your own.

One of the most proven techniques in creative stress management is getting busy with a hobby. This can be done as simple as gardening where one can make use of his or her green thumb or try to develop if there is none. Another hobby that are worth enjoying and therapeutic are candle and soap making. These are foolproof stress-busters that can give 100% favorable results.

There is no doubt that one of the sources of stress is the thing that we see around us. Like if we see clutter, it gives us stimulus that may not be favorable for us. Exercising is one of the most effective ways to cope with stress, however to put some creative stress management techniques, exercising through cleaning is more like it. Perhaps this technique is one of the healthiest and can lend us opportunity to be productive without having to spend for extra cash. You don’t only get positive result, but also make your house more conducive to living and a stress-free environment.

Many of the working parents when stressed-out have no time or little if there is any, to spend with their kids. Little did they know that spending time with their children is a natural way of relieving oneself from stressful situations. Yes, a quality time with kids can help decrease that cortisol—a chemical produced by the body when stress sets in. just simple activities like reading books or singing can truly help these parents cope with stress and likewise strengthening the bond with their children.

Creative stress management techniques can be simple and fun. They are affordable too.

Combating Stress the Right Way

One of the most stressful period in history that mankind has ever encountered is the 21st century. Have you ever wondered why the spa and wellness business is now fast booming? People want to relax and soothe their worn-out body and drained mind. To be fair, not all stress is bad because scientists believe that considerable amount of stress prepares you for the challenges you may encounter during the day. Now we know that too much of something is harmful so learn to tame and control stress before it takes control of you.

Relax. Take a deep breath and say this to yourself ten times “everything will be fine.” After this, clear your mind from all the cobwebs and focus on what needs to be done. Cramming for an exam the next day or minding your office mates who couldn’t care less but to dig into their office mate’s private lives won’t help. Learn to detach yourself from the noises and stressful situations surrounding you.

Stop pushing yourself. Trying too hard to make both ends meet is not a good practice at all. If you feel worn out already, take a break. Since when did resting become a crime? Pushing yourself to the limits will only harm your health. Do yourself a favor, give your body and mind some slack. Get a good sleep because lack of sleep just aggravates stress.

All people make mistakes. “Nobody’s perfect.” Why agonize and blame yourself for everything even bad weather? Remember that you can’t please everyone and it is alright to commit mistakes once in a while. You don’t have to control everything because things will happen anyway if they really meant to happen.

Find a new hobby or pastime to de-stress. Find an avenue where you can divert your attention into something else than yourself. Go to a community gathering, learn a new hobby, pamper yourself in a spa or find time to go to the gym to tone your body. Whatever it is that makes you feel good, do it. Who cares if you’re on a saving mode? Buying that dress or a pair of shoes you have been eyeing for weeks won’t hurt one in a while.

Be realistic. Being flexible and multitasking is not bad but carrying the whole burden on your shoulders by accepting responsibilities left and right is too much. Don’t commit yourself to things you aren’t sure you can do or you really don’t want to do in the first place. This will affect your performance and the turn out of the project, even make it a failure. Learn how to say no – gracefully – when you have too much work on your plate.

Live one day at a time. Quit thinking of tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, next week or next year. Take time to smell the flowers and enjoy life. Life is too short not to enjoy. I’m not saying that you disregard your future but obsessing about it and tormenting yourself thinking on what will transpire tomorrow misses your chance to enjoy the present. Spontaneity is the key to living a healthy and stress free life. You wouldn’t want to age early, right? Taking time off from time to time actually makes you more productive.

Genital Warts...

It’s not everyday that I sit around thinking about genital warts, but I can assure you that on this particular day I was.

I know thats nothing to write in a blog...

It was while I was pondering about just what it was that someone would want to know about genital warts, when it came to me that it might be a good idea if you, the reader, were to have a background picture of why I came to write about this topic in particular.

Like I said, it’s not something that is readily spoken about, and it’s definitely not something that you would even think about writing in the normal course of events.

Could it have been because I, myself, suffered from this potentially embarrassing and particularly bothersome problem? Or maybe I knew someone who suffered from these unpleasant warts.

Then again there’s always the possibility that I’m an experienced, or even budding, member of the medical profession and just couldn’t keep all this information to myself! However, since I disclaimed anything of the sort in the Forward, that can’t be it.

So without further ado, here it is in all its glory: I used to suffer from genital warts. In fact I was a recurrent sufferer up until very recently. I didn’t find any miracle cure to stop my genital warts, and it wasn’t, at least for me, one particular remedy that worked.

It was instead a combination of a number of methods which I had tried over the years. Obviously not everything worked, but when something did, I made a note of it and used that in conjunction with other treatments.

Finally I was able to get rid of my genital warts, and to this day it’s been two years since I had a recurrence.

Nine Steps to a Stress-Free World

Stress is an everyday thing for most people.

According to studies, stress is necessary for normal body functions. It is a body reaction to external and internal forces that are deemed threatening or challenging. When confronted with physical or emotional events, stress is the way by which your body copes up with such event.

Stress is one of the hardest things that man finds difficult to handle. Here are some helpful tips that will help you combat stress:

Evaluate the stressful situation. Stress is greatly reduced if you will just reassess the situation and point out the positive side of that situation. Research shows that having a sense of humor and seeing the good rather than the bad effects of the situation reduces the effects of stress.

Seek out information about the stressful situation. Lack of information contributes to the stressful situation. Keeping yourself informed is important in dealing with stress.

Do things that you enjoy. Developing a certain hobby, singing your favorite song, or playing your favorite sports can work wonders as far as reducing stress is concerned.

Learn to set aside problems. Personal and professional lives do not mix. So as much as possible, do not bring work problems at home and vice versa. It will only add more stress to the situation.

Take a break or vacation. When you realize that stress is starting to creep in to your system, get out of your chair and pause for a while. Count from one to ten, do some stretching, or take a deep breath. Then resume your work.

Learn to relax. There are many ways that you can do to practice relaxation. Go to a quiet place, sit or lie comfortably, and close your eyes. You can also use some helpful techniques such as listening to music, relaxing your muscles, or meditation.

Retrain your reactions. As soon as you have relaxed, use images to break the emotional reactions influenced by the pressures you frequently experience.

Manage your environment. Stress often results from your failure to take control of your environment. As much as possible, initiate steps to deal with your environment. Schedule your appointments. Give yourself enough time so that you will not always be in a hurry with your meetings. Set your priorities and stick to it. Move to a new task only when you have completed another.

Slow down. People who always rush often feel the stress. Learn to take it easy. Walk and talk slowly. This will help you reduce your impatience and thereby minimize stress.

Practice these steps and you experience a considerable reduction in your level of stress!

Being Vegetarian

Being Vegetarian - Vegetarianism? You mean like scraping meat off your plate and eating whatever is left?

For some people, vegetarian food sounds like an oxymoron. To others, it is more like the normal pursuit of a hardcore nutritionist. “Scary,” meat lovers would probably say. “Just another fad,” cynics would comment.

But there is more to vegetarianism than just avoiding meat. The whole diet is really more complex than that and encompasses not only physical health but the spiritual as well. In order to ensure that you are meeting your daily nutritional needs, you need to take extra steps.

Which Type of Vegetarian Are You?

Some people are not aware that the term “vegetarian” is actually a broad word used to refer to types of vegetarians – the purists (or “vegans” as they are often referred to) and regular vegetarians.

While both observe a diet which consists primarily of plant-based foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts and seed, the distinction between the two lies in the types of animal-derived foods they eat.

Vegans

As purists, vegans eat only plant products. They don’t eat meat, honey, dairy products, eggs, or just basically any food that comes from animals, whether processed or not. As such, veganism represents the toughest form of non-meat diet.

Vegetarians

As compared with vegans, vegetarians are more liberal, so to speak. Liberal in the sense that some vegetarians eat fish or shellfish, dairy and eggs.

Apart from vegans, there are different kinds of vegetarians:

• Lacto Vegetarians – Diet consists only of fruits and vegetables and dairy products, like milk, cheese, and butter.

• Lacto Ovo Vegetarians – Diet consists of fruits, vegetables, dairy, and eggs.

• Fruitarians – Diet consists of fruits (includes tomatoes and courgettes), nuts, and seeds. No roots of plants like carrots and potatoes.

The Vegetarian Food Pyramid

If you have been a meat-lover for so long, you might find it hard to suddenly eat only plant produce. Any sort of drastic change in habits like that may have the effect of turning you off vegetarianism completely or destroying your resolve to eat only vegetables and fruits from now on. The key is to take it one step at a time.

Adopting a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle is a major change for most people. Deciding whether or not you should become a vegetarian is already so hard. Much more if you finally do what you have set out for yourself.

While you can always decide to become vegan or vegetarian right away, it might be easier if you take it slow at first. For instance, for the first two weeks, you may want to forego only eggs and meats. Then, the week after that, forego dairy products, before you go entirely vegan.

That way, the change will not be as shocking. And you give yourself a chance to adapt to this new change.

To keep your vegetarian diet on track, it helps if you follow the vegetarian food pyramid. Like a regular food pyramid, a vegetarian food pyramid outlines various food groups and food choices that, if eaten in the right quantities, form the foundation of a healthy vegetarian diet.

• EAT SPARINGLY: Vegetable fats and oils, sweets and salt

• EAT MODERATELY: Low-fat or non-fat milk, yogurt, fresh cheese or fortified alternative group (2-3 servings) and legume, nut, seed, and meat alternative group (2-3 servings)

• EAT GENEROUSLY: Vegetable group (3-5 servings) and fruit group (2-4 servings)

• EAT LIBERALLY: Whole grain, bread, cereal, pasta, rice group (6-11 servings)

Also, try the following vegetarian alternatives to certain forbidden food groups:

• Milk: Fortified soymilk, rice milk or almond milk

• Butter: Olive oil, water, vegetable broth, wine or nonfat cooking spray; canola oil (for baking)

• Cheese: Soy cheese or nutritional yeast flakes

• Eggs: Commercial egg replacers (made mostly of potato starch); Or use this recipe: ¼ cup whipped tofu or 1 tablespoon milled flaxseed mixed with 3 tablespoons of water

The Vegan Food Pyramid

The above food pyramid may not work for vegans since they contain dairy and eggs. So use this guide instead:

• Vegetables: Dark green leafy vegetables such as broccoli, collards, kale, mustard and turnip greens, chicory, bok choy; dark yellow and orange vegetables such as carrots, winter squash, sweet potatoes and pumpkin

SERVING SIZE: 1 cup raw vegetables or ½ cup cooked vegetables (3 or more servings per day)

• Whole Grains: Bread, rice, pasta, hot or cold cereal, corn, millet, barley, buglar, buckwheat, groats and tortillas

SERVING SIZE: ½ cup hot cereal or 1 ounce dry cereal, one slice bread (5 or more servings per day)

• Fruits: Citrus fruits, melons and strawberries. Be sure to choose whole fruit instead of fruit juices.

SERVING SIZE: One medium piece of fruit or ½ cup cooked fruit, 4 ounces juice (2 or more servings per day)

• Legumes: Beans, peas, lentils, chickpeas, baked and refried beans, soy milk, tempeh, and texturized vegetable protein

SERVING SIZE: ½ cup cooked beans or 4 ounces tofu or tempeh, 8 ounces soy milk (2 or more servings a day)

Get Adequate Nutrition

Vegetables and fruits are foods that belong to the health food category. However, this does not automatically mean that you are getting enough nutrients just because you are on a vegetarian diet.

In fact, there are many nutrients that you may be deficient in as a result of your vegetarian diet. Here is how you can get these nutrients even from non-meat sources:

Protein

Protein is important to maintain healthy skin, bones, muscles, and organs. The biggest sources of protein in our diets are meat. But since you are on a vegetarian diet, that is really not an option. So what are your alternatives?

Vegetarians who eat eggs and dairy products should not have any problem regarding protein. For vegans, they use the following foods as convenient sources of protein:

• Soy products

• Meat substitutes

• Legumes

• Lentils

• Nuts

• Seeds

• Whole grains

Calcium

To maintain strong teeth and bones, you need lots of calcium. This mineral is often found in milk and other dairy products. For vegetarians, consider low fat dairy foods and dark green vegetables as rich sources of calcium. Specifically, be sure to include the following foods in your diet:

• Spinach

• Turnip

• Collard greens

• Kale

• Broccoli

• Tofu enriched with calcium

• Fortified soymilk and fruit juices

Vitamin B-12

Vitamin B-12 is important in the production of red blood cells and prevent anemia. The problem is that this vitamin is found almost exclusively in animal products, including milk, eggs, and cheese. For vegans, they have the following alternatives:

• Enriched cereals

• Fortified soy products

• Vitamin B-12 supplements

Iron

Aside from Vitamin B-12, your body also needs iron in order to produce red blood cells. In fact, iron forms a crucial component of red blood cells, the lack of which would result in anemia. For iron sources, consider the following foods:

• Dried beans and peas

• Lentils

• Enriched cereals

• Whole grain products

• Dark, leafy green vegetables

• Dried fruits

Note that your body may not be able to easily absorb non-animal sources of iron. To help with absorption, eat foods that are rich in vitamin C, including strawberries, citrus fruits, tomatoes, cabbage, and broccoli.

Zinc

This mineral forms an essential component of many enzymes. It also plays a role in cell division and in the formation of proteins. Whole grains, soy products, nuts and wheat germ are good sources of zinc.

Bacterial Vaginitis

Bacterial vaginitis, or yeast infections, is not something that many women want or need at any point in their lives, but it is unfortunately something that over 75% of women will get in their lifetime. And of this number a great many women will have recurring bacterial vaginitis as well.
To help put a stop to recurring bacterial vaginitis there are a few simple things that can be done. Some of these might involve a lifestyle change, but most of these preventative measures are simple things that can be done if only you exercise a little care and forethought.
For instance, abstaining from sexual relations entirely while you have bacterial vaginitis can help to prevent not only the spread of the infection to your partner, but it can also prevent your partner from giving it back to you.
And if you use things like douches, feminine deodorants, or scented feminine hygiene products like scented pads, panty-liners and tampons, you should look at changing these habits.
Instead look to using unscented feminine hygiene products and try to avoid all use of feminine deodorants and douches as these can destroy the delicate balance of the vagina.
Other preventative measures includes avoiding prolonged contact with semen, and if you’re particularly susceptible to recurring bacterial vaginitis, avoiding the use of spermicides.
And if you also take antibiotics to cure yourself of other maladies, you might want to look into using a few preventative measures like changing your diet to include such things as unsweetened yogurt, and garlic.
Both of these options are good if you’re taking a course of antibiotics, as antibiotics can sometimes kill some of the good bacteria in your body along with the bad leaving you wide open to get bacterial vaginitis.
Another thing that you might want to do if you’re taking antibiotics is to fully finish that course. Most people will stop their medication the minute a change occurs for the better, but this in turn can leave your body open to other infections, and immune to the effects of the medication if needed a second time round.
Factors like dietary habits and stress also come into the equation, and by changing these to healthier options you can help your body to gain the strength to fight off any infections.
There can also be times when no matter how diligently you take precautionary measures you might still get recurrent bacterial vaginitis. In these cases it is almost definitely best if you get a proper medical diagnosis.
The recurrence of bacterial vaginitis could be the herald of another underlying medical condition and if you are forever treating only the bacterial vaginitis, you could be laying yourself open to unwanted risks and complications.

Causes of Yeast Infection

Causes of Yeast Infection: Yeast infections are a very common and most women, about 70% of them, will get a yeast infection at least once in their lifetimes.

And some of these women will get recurring yeast infections. To help prevent and cure this though, the first thing that should be known is, what is the cause of yeast infection?

Well, to begin with it should be stated that there is no one cause of yeast infection, there are many and they run the gamut from simple stress in life to hormonal changes to transference through sexual intercourse.

And since there is no actual one cause of yeast infection that can be pinpointed and isolated to avoid getting a yeast infection, it’s best if you can be aware of most of them. In the long run this can help you to avoid getting a yeast infection.

One of cause of yeast infection is if you take antibiotics. This includes, if the overuse of antibiotics, and even normal usage of antibiotics. In brief, antibiotics are taken to kill off any bad bacteria in your body.

Sometimes however it can also kill off some of the good bacteria thereby causing an imbalance in your body and promoting the growth of yeast producing bacteria.

Another cause of yeast infection occurs due to stress.

A stressful lifestyle can and will change your hormones around and this can sometimes result in a yeast infection.

This same hormonal change is a prime factor in the cause of yeast infection of pregnant or lactating women, and women who are menopausal. The same applies before and after menstruation cycles as this also promotes a significant hormonal upheaval.

For men, the most common cause of yeast infection is through sexual intercourse with a woman affected with a yeast infection. This includes oral sex as well as vaginal sex.

Other factors that can be a major cause of yeast infection in women include the use of douches, scented feminine hygiene products, feminine sprays, and the regular use of spermicides.
The use of any or all of these will imbalance the delicate balance of the vagina and can bring about an onset of yeast infection.

Another cause of yeast infection that is largely overlooked is clothing. This includes the use of such items as pantyhose, tight jeans and synthetic fiber underwear. Tight fitting clothes such as jeans won’t allow the vagina to breathe, and articles of clothing made from man made fibers will also do the same thing.

How to Find the Beauty Within

How to Find the Beauty Within - YOU!

Wide eyes, pouting lips, smooth skin, shiny hair, white complexion – all of these have become the standards for beauty.

Media has bombarded us with images of supermodels and has attempted to define real beauty for us. Because of this non-stop bombardment, we often forget that each one of us is endowed with our own sense of beauty.

Your task is to find the beauty within. How do you find it?

Beat stress. Avoid sleeping late to prevent the growth of eye bags and premature skin aging. Observe efficient management of your time. Do not accept tasks that you cannot accomplish in the first place. Learn to beg off and say “No.”
Make realistic schedules and provide allowance for rest time. Indulge in weekly sabbaticals to energize yourself. Leave your weekends free to be able to recharge and prepare for the following week. Also, avoid worrying about minor or trivial things that do not concern you. Maintain a healthy dose of humor and laugh all the time, since it helps you cope up with troubles.

Maintain a healthy lifestyle. Drink lots of water to speed up the process of cleansing and detoxification. Replace the body liquid that you lose when you perspire. Minimize your intake of fats and exercise daily. Do strenuous physical exercise to release sweat, which is a form of disposing body waste. Ensure regular bowel movement and urination for the same purpose.
Drink fruit juices and milk, which are rich in vitamins that maintain the youthful glow and clarity of skin. Fresh is always the best. However, if this is unavailable, head to the vitamin counter for supplements. Enjoy quiet moments and practice meditation to keep you centered.
Express your authentic self. If you’re a woman, express your real beauty by wearing less makeup. Expensive cosmetic products are simply a mixture of chemicals prepared for external use to condition and beautify the body. For example, pressed powder is often talc-based and composed of magnesium silicate and zinc oxide. Lacquers are the main ingredients of the nail polish, while synthetic detergents form the basic elements of shampoo. Hence, it is never advisable to use or apply them heavily.
Beauty is a major industry. Breakthroughs in technology resulted in light-diffusing make-up, making people look good physically and in photos as well. The trend nowadays is the “no make-up look” which goes for the natural, fresh, and unmade up appearance. It makes one look younger and more importantly, makes the whole gamut of applying make-up look effortless and easy. Technology boosted this trend by coming up with products that allowed people to have that inner glow and radiance 24 hours a day.
Consider your lifestyle in deciding the beauty products to use. If your job entails fieldwork, you need sun block and products with oil and sweat control. If it entails manual labor, stick to deodorizing soaps and products with antibacterial properties. Meanwhile, if you are an office worker holed up in an air-conditioned office for many hours, you will probably need bath soaps with a lot of moisturizing ingredients. Use lotion or oils to keep the skin soft and smooth.
Pamper yourself once in a while. Pamper yourself occasionally, but it does not mean you have to dig deep into your pockets and shell out hard-earned money. You may even do it yourself, or at least, with the help of people at your house. Apply warm coconut oil onto your hair and cover with plastic hair wrap. For the skin, use virgin coconut oil and find someone who can massage well.

Bathe daily. Nothing energizes you more than a quick shower in the morning. Water has therapeutic properties. A soak in the tub or warm bath at the end of the day relaxes your nerves. In addition, it removes the dirt accumulated in your hair and skin. Wash your hair thoroughly with shampoo, rinse, and apply conditioner. For the skin, use clinically tested soaps or better yet, organic or natural soaps. Go ahead and indulge! Enjoy life to the fullest and discover the beauty within!
